JPalm is a unisex label by Stockholm-based New Zealand designer Julia Palm.
Designer/ artist statement: The Discordia collection from Jpalm debuted at NZFW 2016, with themes deriving from disharmony, the uncomfortable, and designer Julia Palm's experience of growing up in the punk scene. The collection was also a collaboration with artist Esta de Jong.
"I used her magnificent Facebook updates as text on the garments, alongside many of her photographs. The fashion film grew from past collaborations with artist Ted Whitaker. The music featured is from New Zealand band Élan Vital, and was shot in Christchurch with pals Alannah Kwant and Oscar Bannan. " - Julia Palm
After the NZFW Julia celebrated the collaborations on a local level, and hosted JPalm Presents - a showcase which she used to launch the Discordia fashion film. This showcase also highlighted the multiple intersections through the collision of disciplines - art, fashion, music.
